Configuration
The four-step wizard that sets up Clarify for a new Discord server — add the bot, choose a preset or manual setup, and connect your forums, category and support team.

Onboarding is the short wizard you run the first time you add Clarify to a server. It gets you from an empty server to a working ticket setup in four steps — add the bot to your server, choose how much you want set up for you, connect your channels and roles, and you are done. Everything you choose here is a starting point you can change later.

Onboarding sets the essentials. Categories are edited any time under Categories; the ticket delivery mode and formats under General settings. Support and blacklist roles are set here.

The four steps

Server Selection

Click Choose your server!. Discord's authorisation window opens: pick the server, grant the bot the requested permissions and confirm. Clarify needs administrator rights on that server. A server that is already set up cannot be added twice — remove it from its settings first.

Already managing a server? Use Add new server in the dashboard's server switcher to start onboarding for another one.

Setup Mode

Choose how much Clarify sets up for you:

  • Preset (recommended) — "Select from presets featuring production-ready configurations." Clarify creates forum channels with categories, a channel category and support roles for a common type of server. Nothing is locked in — rename, remove or add anything afterwards.
  • Manual — "Already familiar with Clarify? Set up your existing channels and categories here." Connect the forums, category and roles you already have.
PresetCreates
GameserverGame-community forums and categories, roles Admin, Game Master, Support Team
CommunityGeneral community forums and categories, roles Moderator, Community Helper, Administrator
ShopOrder and support forums, roles Admin, Support Team, Sales Support
EventA support forum pair (General Support · Feedback · Other / Unresolved · Technical Issue), roles Support Team, Moderator, Administrator

Every preset also creates a Muted role as the blacklist role. Choosing a preset finishes the setup — there is no further form.

Configuration (manual setup)

Four short sub-steps; the first two are required.

Forum channels
multi-select
1/4 · Required. The forum channels Clarify opens tickets in. Each forum's Discord tags become your ticket categories; a forum without tags gets a default General category. Manual setup needs at least one forum channel on the server.
Category
select
2/4 · Required. The Discord channel category (the channel group) Clarify uses for ticket channels in Server Channels mode and for channels it creates.
Support roles
multi-select
3/4 · Optional. The Discord roles that count as your support team. Members with these roles handle tickets; Discord administrators always count as support.
Blacklist roles
multi-select
4/4 · Optional. Roles that are blocked from opening tickets — for muted or restricted members.

Save Configuration creates the server in Clarify.

Completion

Clarify applies the setup and shows Navigate to Dashboard! when it is done. If something failed, the screen offers Back to configuration and Retry setup.

After onboarding

  • New servers start in DM Tickets delivery mode with mirroring on — change it under General settings.
  • Post a creation panel into a channel with /generate-creation — see Panels.
  • Refine the categories the preset or your forums brought along under Categories.

General settings

Delivery mode, mirroring, container channel, timezone and formats.

Categories

Add, rename or remove ticket types, edit their inputs, messages and assignment.

Onboarding is a one-time setup for a new server. Support and blacklist roles are set here; to change them later, reset the settings from the Danger Zone (root account) or contact support.
