Getting started
Invite the Clarify bot to your Discord server, sign in to the dashboard, and get your server ready.

Getting Clarify running takes two things: the bot in your Discord server, and you signed in to the dashboard. This page walks you through both, then hands you off to a guided setup for your first server.

Prefer to run Clarify under your own bot instead of ours? Skip to White Label — everything else on this page still applies.

1. Invite the bot

Clarify runs as a Discord bot in your server. Inviting it takes one click and needs the Manage Server permission on the server you're adding it to.

Open the invite

Head to app.clarify.bot and start the sign-in. When you pick a server Clarify isn't in yet, you'll be sent to Discord's invite screen.

Choose your server

Pick the server from Discord's dropdown. Only servers where you have Manage Server appear here.

Approve the permissions

Review the permissions (see below) and click Authorize. Clarify joins your server straight away.

What the bot can do

Clarify asks for a focused set of permissions — just enough to run tickets, and nothing more.

Clarify needs to…So it can…
Manage channels & threadsCreate a forum thread (or private channel) for each ticket and tidy them on close
Read & send messagesRelay messages between a member and your team
Create webhooksPost messages that look like they come from the right person in a ticket
Embed links & attach filesShow cards, transcripts and uploaded files inside a ticket
Clarify never DMs your members from a staff member's personal account, and it only touches the channels you point it at. Read more in How Clarify works.
If you remove any of these permissions later, tickets can stop opening or messages can fail to relay. See Troubleshooting if something breaks after a permissions change.

2. Sign in to the dashboard

Everything you configure — categories, panels, modules and integrations — lives in the dashboard. You sign in with the same Discord account you use every day.

Go to the dashboard

Open app.clarify.bot.

Continue with Discord

Click Sign in with Discord. Discord asks you to authorise Clarify to see your basic profile and the servers you're in. Click Authorize.

Pick your server

You'll land on a list of your servers. Choose the one you just added Clarify to.

Clarify signs you in through Discord (OAuth) — it never sees or stores your Discord password. Read what that means in Security overview.

3. First-time setup

The very first time you open a server in the dashboard, Clarify walks you through a short, guided setup — picking support roles, a preset for your kind of server, and the channels tickets live in. This is a one-time step per server.

See exactly what each step asks for in the Onboarding guide.

Once onboarding is done, you land on the dashboard home — a preview of your server with recent activity and stats.
